Confidence, comfort, and style: Motherwear's winter line is here.
The babies I see at the breastfeeding clinic have been getting more and more bundled up recently. Some of them seem almost swallowed up by their car seats and slings.
In a way, having a baby in the winter is perfect. Yes, it's harder to get out, and yes, there are lots of layers to put on and take off, but cold days are great for curling up on the couch and nursing a baby. I think I stayed on the couch for the first six months anyway.
Motherwear's new winter line of nursing wear is out this week, and (for what it's worth) my favorites are shown here.
I'm always looking for clothes that are appropriate for work but also comfortable enough to wear at home, and I think each of these could work. I guess that I could branch out a little in color, but I'm really attracted to these clean and classic-looking styles.
Last month I got to see some of the photo shoot for the winter catalog, and chat with the models about their experiences as nursing mothers. The models you see here, Heather and Monica, were great to talk with, and very open about sharing their nursing experiences. I love it that Motherwear showed Heather's "older" baby (9 months) nursing. You can see that post here.
Motherwear also has some great things on clearance right now. I'll admit that I actually bought this maternity shirt to give to the next friend who becomes pregnant - it was too great a deal to pass up.
P.S. On Tuesday (November 14th), don't miss our first Carnival of Breastfeeding! We'll have posts from several bloggers on the theme "Home for the Holidays." Be sure to come back!
