Last week I posted about the National Pork Board's threat to sue Jen, who writes the blog The Lactivist, for her use of the phrase "the other white milk" on the t-shirts she sells to benefit the Mother's Milk Bank of Ohio.
Their complaint accused her of, among other things, damaging the reputation of their industry by attempting "to promote the use of breastmilk beyond merely for infant consumption."
Well, don't mess with this breastfeeding mama. Today, after a flurry of publicity on the web (it doesn't hurt that Jen is an internet search marketing expert), the National Pork board has 1) apologized for its accusation, and 2) announced that it will be holding a fundraising campaign among its staff and executives for the Mother's Milk Bank of Ohio. Remind me to never get on the wrong side of an argument with this woman.
The t-shirt in question is not available (and will probably now be a collector's item), but she has designed a new one, shown here.
And well done, Pork.
