Pictures from our local La Leche League walk.
Yesterday we went to the La Leche League walk in our area in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week. It was a really nice event, with kids music, babywearing demos, prizes, and snacks. It was also
very hot, which shortened the distance we walked considerably - a good call in my opinion!
Some of the kids were wearing great homemade t-shirts. One said, "Beauty, Brains, Breastfed," and another said "I had na-nas for three years!"
We walked throught the town farmer's market, and I could see people smiling when they understood who we were.
The Moms Rising table had letters for people to send to their representatives in support of legislation protecting nursing in public in our state.
People also bought our local breastfeeding coalition sticker with the breastfeeding symbol to post around town.
After the walk we (me, husband, son) headed to the Connecticut shore, where we visited the Mystic Acquarium, rode on the Essex Steam Train, and went to the beach. It's been a busy weekend, and I'm off to bed soon!
