Is your pump talking to you?

This cracked me up.  At a breastfeeding group last week one mother swore that sometimes she hears messages in those whooshing noises her pump makes.  If I'm not mistaken, her pump sometimes says to her:

"Keep it going, keep it going."

"Way to go, way to go."

"I don't know, I don't know."

and, inexplicably:

"David Bowie, David Bowie."

A few other moms agreed that their pumps are attempting to convey such messages.  I remember hearing some voices in my son's sound machine, but I can't remember what they said.

Do any of you hear your pump talking to you?

I thought that I was crazy. My pump is always talking to me. It says :
Let it go, let it go.
And sometimes ,but less frecuently it speaks spanish too.

Oh my gosh - my husband thought I was crazy when I heard these sounds! Of course I heard them the first few months (in my sleep deprived stupor) and I don't really hear them anymore. I know one was "Winnepeg, Winnepeg, Winnepeg" (which is weird because I've never been there and no association with it). I wish I remembered the rest. Maybe I'll hear them again when I have another newborn.

My pump definitely talked to me. Usually it was the concise message, "Do it, do it."

I always thought I was nuts for hearing my pump talk. Mine says "lap dog, lap dog, lap dog."

These are hilarious! I'm especially impressed with Lourdes' bilingual pump. The rest of them sound either like cheerleaders or a bit passive aggressive. I have no idea how to interpret 'Winnepeg.'

I thought I was alone! I pumped for 5 weeks for my premies before I got them to the breast and I swear my pumps talked to me. Two different pumps said different things. One would chant my name and the other said, among other things, "Hoover Dam."

I thought I was crazy!! My son would never latch on so I have been exclusively pumping for 8 months now and my pump talks depending on my mood. Sometime it repeats my name, at night it always say "I'm so tired! I'm so tired!" and when I'm upset with my husband it curses at him!

haven't had this experience with pumping, but when i run the pattern of my breath sounds like it's saying "holyoke ha-whee-oo" so i know exactly what you all mean!

I always thought my pump was saying "holy child, holy child" I told my husband and he looked introspective.....like, hmmm, wow!
