The First Motherwear Podcast: Interview with Cate, co-author of The Milk Memos, and a mini-give away.
Here it is - the first Motherwear Podcast!
I had the pleasure of interviewing Cate Colburn-Smith, co-author of The Milk Memos for this recording. You can also read my review of this book, and here's a picture of us when we met in San Diego this summer. I have to say that I'm feeling pretty proud for just having figured out how to make one of these things and get it up on the site!
You can listen to it right now with the player below, or download it and listen with another player.
Cate was kind enough to give me ten of her breastmilk storage magnets (pictured at left) to give away. To win one, leave me some feedback about the podcast in the comment section by the end of the day on December 5th. I'll pick ten names at random from among the comments. Be sure to leave a "real" email address so I can contact you. International addresses are fine.

Thanks so much for this site! I'm new to the world of blogs, and so glad I discovered this one! The information is priceless- and I've only been reading for 2 weeks! Those magnets are great- in case I don't win one, are they available for purchase? I went back to work last week (RN @ local hospital) and it would be so handy.

Tanya-
Very professional podcast! The interview is great and brings back melancholy memories of my supply closet. I look forward to more.
If I win the magnet, it will go in our *new* lactation room at work.

I bought this book because of your recommendation during the first week my son was at daycare. It made such a difference to read about other moms going through the same thing. Thanks so much for posting the interview!

I love this book and have passed it on to another new mom. I got read the book on my first week back at work while I was pumping. Thank you for the interview - enjoyed listening!

You did it! Not only was it your first posted podcast, but I'm embarrassed to say that it was the first podcast I've ever listened to! :) Your questions WERE thought-provoking!
I really enjoyed hearing Cate's story. It brought back memories of my pumping at lunchtime in my elementary school's conference room, starting two years ago. It was pretty easy to do, and the principal/front office staff had several of us new moms to contend with so they were supportive and flexible. I feel lucky.
I'm 10 weeks pregnant with #2, and happy that I'm home full-time and won't have to deal with pumping in the workplace. Now my breastfeeding issues are - will the 2.5 year old wean before I have another baby? Tandem nursing? Oh, boy, another boob adventure awaits!
Thanks again, Tanya.....Maureen

We just want to say that you are a much better interviewer than that Terri Gross person on NPR. And we are being totally objective about that.

Um, that last comment was from my parents.
(Thanks Mom and Dad!)
