Stone Soup comic strip takes on nursing in public this week.
The comic strip Stone Soup has been running cartoons about breastfeeding all week, complete with "nuk, nuk" captions for the nursing baby. Check them out! The titles below are mine.
- Monday: "You can't do that here."
- Tuesday: "You hang on to her..."
- Wednesday: "Hooters"
- Thursday: "Mooo"
- Friday: "Teething"
- Saturday: "Yikes"

These are great! This cartoon is not in my local paper so thank you for linking to them. I got NIP on a comfortable couch in World Market this morning and thankfully nobody said a thing!

No one has ever given me a hard time. During those early days when I was so tired ad stressed I kind of wished someone would so I would have an excuse to let 'em have it.

Stone Soup was always one of my favorite comics, anyway!
Kudos to them for taking this on.
I haven't really had too many people bothering me about nursing in public--I live in Austin, TX--you can go topless here if you want! But I do sometimes get these "disapproving" looks and typically they are from YOUNGER people!
My husband and I have also noticed that foreign restaurants/shops are more supportive places to openly nurse than good ole "American" establishments.
How SAD that it even has to be an "issue" at all...

I love whenever a mass media forum like the comics takes on breastfeeding - Baby Blues does it frequently too.
Thankfully, I have never had anyone ask me to stop nursing in public. But boy, let anyone dare - bring 'em on!!!
I loved the "hold her while I finish my lunch" one - a suitable punishment for the waiter!
