We celebrated Passover this week. As part of a kids' seder organized by my sister in law, we had a Passover play.
A little refresher on part of the Passover/Exodus story (which I need every year no matter how many times I hear it):
The Jews are slaves in Egypt. Pharoh decrees that all newborn Jewish babies must be killed. A Jewish baby named Moses is born and his mother and sister Miriam try to save him by sending him down the river in a basket, hoping that someone will find and adopt him.
Pharoh's daughter finds Moses, as Miriam watches in hiding. Pharoh's daughter decides to raise him, and Miriam suggests to her that she can find a wet nurse to feed him. The mother she brings as a wet nurse is in fact Moses' mother. So Moses is nursed and cared for by his mother. Moses grows to manhood and leads the Jewish people out of slavery.
Can you guess which parts my daughter and I played?
