I have a new podcast interview up on the Motherlove Blog which I think many of you will enjoy.
It's an interview with Gill Rapley, co-author of Baby-Led Weaning.
Before things get confused I need to explain that "weaning" in the U.K. means starting solid foods, not stopping breastfeeding.
Gill's book takes on the conventional wisdom that after breast or bottle comes pureed foods, fed by spoon. She advocates moving babies directly to table food. Her ideas are getting more and more attention. In the interview she talks about the benefits of this approach and a bit about the history of baby food, as well as common concerns like choking.
Did you skip the purees?
