I have an interview with the author of Breastfeeding Take Two: Successful Breastfeeding the Second Time Around up on the Motherlove Blog.
For some time I've wanted to have something to refer moms to who are preparing to breastfeed a new baby after a challenging experience with their first. I think it's in many ways analogous to moms preparing for a VBAC, an experience I know firsthand. I frequently see moms who are so preocupied by looking over their shoulder at their past experience to see that things are, blessedly, actually working this time.
I asked the author, Stephanie Casemore, about ways of processing a difficult first experience. I also asked her to write, as she does in her book, about the concept of 'failure,' and about guilt and grief.
I haven't seen comments like hers anywhere else, and I'm so happy to be able to share them. Hope you enjoy this interview.
