I recently had the chance to talk with Mayim Bialik about her new book, Beyond the Sling for a podcast for Motherlove Herbal Company.
Mayim is best known for her title role on the show Blossom in the '90's, as a young Bette Midler in Beaches, and as Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory.
But did you know that she also holds a doctorate in neuroscience, blogs about Jewish parenting issues, and is also an attachment parenting advocate? And that she's a certified lactation educator and hopes to become an IBCLC?
Her new book, out this week, is Beyond the Sling: A real-life guide to raising confident, loving children the attachment parenting way.
I got to talk with Mayim about the intersection of her science and parenting lives, how breastfeeding figures into her parenting, her reasons for co-sleeping, and how her husband reacted to the idea of elimination communication.
